Category Standards | Official Fellow Citizen
Official Fellow Citizen defines category-specific production and quality standards. A product must meet the standards of its category before it may be issued as a Citizen. Standards may evolve as categories expand.
Coffee
A coffee product issued under Official Fellow Citizen must meet the following standards:
• Specialty grade minimum score: 80+ on the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) 100-point scale.
• Roasted in the United States: Final roasting process performed within the United States.
• Independent lab testing: Third-party testing of the finished roasted product for mycotoxins and relevant contaminants.
• Fresh roast window: Roasted and shipped within a defined freshness window.
