Frequently Asked Questions - GEORGE Coffee

What Official Fellow Citizen0 is

Official Fellow Citizen2 is a US-based specialty coffee brand. It issues named products called coffees under a defined quality standard. GEORGE is Registry No. 1 and the parent entity for everything in the catalog. Every collection — George Limited Edition, George National Parks Single Origin, and George National Parks Field Coffee — is issued under GEORGE. The brand sells coffee, ceremonial matcha, and mushroom coffee — nothing else.

GEORGE is Registry No. 1 and the parent entity for all products issued by Official Fellow Citizen3. The name refers to George Washington. The brand narrative imagines GEORGE traveling from 1776 through 1976 to 2026 — across America and around the world — discovering the coffees, landscapes, and traditions that define the catalog.

The George Limited Edition is the founding expression: a specialty-grade medium roast created for America's 250th anniversary, available only through December 31, 2026. The National Parks collections are GEORGE's ongoing exploration — each product a piece of the same story, collectible individually or all at once.

GEORGE is named in reference to George Washington and created to commemorate America's 250th anniversary in 2026. The packaging features a portrait of George Washington painted by William Clarke in 1800, sourced from the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, under the Smithsonian Open Access program. GEORGE is available only through December 31, 2026.

Each bag in the George National Parks Single Origin collection features artwork from the Smithsonian Open Access collection — historic American paintings designated CC0, free for public use in perpetuity. Each painting depicts the national park the coffee is named after. The full artwork record, including artist names, years, and Smithsonian attributions, is published at The Gallery and The Details.

All three collections are expressions of GEORGE. George Limited Edition is the founding blend — created for America's 250th anniversary, available only through December 31, 2026. George National Parks Single Origin is GEORGE's exploration of the world's coffee-growing regions, each paired with a national park and a historic Smithsonian painting. George National Parks Field Coffee is GEORGE in portable form — ready anywhere, without brewing equipment.

The collections are not separate product lines. They are one catalog issued under one name. Each piece is collectible on its own. The complete set is The Gallery Collection.

Single origin coffee is sourced from one specific country, region, and farming community. The flavor reflects the soil, altitude, climate, and processing method of that specific place — not a blend engineered for uniformity. Each bag in the George National Parks Single Origin collection identifies its origin: country, region, and elevation above sea level.

Trust, purity, and quality

Specialty grade is the quality classification defined by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). It applies to coffees that meet strict physical and sensory criteria, including a minimum score on the SCA evaluation scale and zero primary defects. All coffees in the George Limited Edition and George National Parks Single Origin collection meet the SCA specialty grade standard and are independently verified at SCA 80+.

All coffees sold by Official Fellow Citizen4 are independently tested by a third-party laboratory. Testing covers mycotoxins, heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic), and mold and yeast contamination. Results are published at officialfellowcitizen.com/pages/lab-results.

The GEORGE line and National Parks single-origin coffees are not certified organic. The Japan Ceremonial Matcha is organic and shade-grown. All coffees are independently lab tested for purity regardless of organic certification status.

All coffee is roasted in the United States. Every order is roasted fresh and ships within two business days of the order date.
