Brazil’s Cerrado region is a plateau savanna in Minas Gerais state — consistent altitude, well-defined seasons, and a farming infrastructure that has been optimized over decades for producing coffee that is reliable at the highest levels of quality. It is not a surprise origin. It is a foundational one.

Cerrado coffees are known for their smooth body, low acidity, and the kind of chocolate and hazelnut depth that works in every brew method and at every time of day. The natural and pulped natural processing methods used here preserve the sweetness of the fruit while building structure in the cup. Wildflower sweetness closes the profile — subtle, clean, and lasting.

Brazil’s Cerrado region carries the same logic. It is not the most exotic coffee origin. It is among the most consistent, most carefully farmed, and most respected among people who understand what the best version of a Brazilian coffee can be. Bierstadt painted the Rockies because he understood that some landscapes are foundational. Brazil Cerrado is coffee’s version of the same truth.

Specialty-grade coffee scores 80 points or higher on the Specialty Coffee Association’s 100-point evaluation scale. Coffees are evaluated through blind sensory testing by trained graders who assess aroma, flavor, body, acidity, and defects.

The classification represents a small percentage of global coffee production. Rocky Mountain meets the specialty-grade standard. It also meets the OFC Specialty Coffee Standard — specialty grade minimum, roasted in the United States, independently lab tested, shipped fresh.
