GEORGE is specialty-grade coffee issued by Official Fellow Citizen for the 2026 anniversary year. Fresh roasted to order in the United States, independently lab tested, and packaged with American artwork sourced through Smithsonian Open Access, it was made to be given, brewed, and remembered from Father’s Day through the Fourth of July.

America's 250th
Official Fellow Citizen is a small American registry that issues limited-edition coffees as named, recorded products — each one called a registry coffee. The coffees are specialty grade, fresh roasted in the United States, and independently lab tested. Every fresh-roasted issue is paired with a public-domain American painting from the Smithsonian Open Access collection.
GEORGE is the founding coffee — a medium roast issued for America's 250th anniversary and available through December 31, 2026.
A coffee with two inheritances
Each bag of GEORGE carries two layers of visual history. The artwork on the front comes from the Smithsonian Open Access collection — public-domain American paintings released into the commons under CC0. The patterns on the side panels are taken from a private archive of mid-century American neckties belonging to a family member who served in WWII, paired by hand to each origin's character.
Together, the painting and the pattern form the visual language of the collection: one public inheritance, one private. Both treated with care.
GEORGE is Registry No. 1 — the founding signature blend issued by Official Fellow Citizen0 for America's 250th anniversary. The painting on its bag is George Washington (1800) by William Clarke, held by the National Portrait Gallery and made available through Smithsonian Open Access.

Smithsonian Open Access. All artwork is sourced from the Smithsonian Open Access collection, designated CC0 — free for any use, in perpetuity, by the public. The Smithsonian Institution is not affiliated with and does not endorse Official Fellow Citizen5.
Roasted in the United States. "Roasted in the United States" refers to roasting and fulfillment. Coffee beans are agricultural products grown in coffee-producing regions outside the continental United States.
The word "coffee." In the Official Fellow Citizen6 registry, "coffee" refers to a named physical product issued under category-specific standards. It does not refer to a person or to legal citizenship status.
Lab testing. Independent third-party testing performed by FoodChain ID, a PJLA-accredited and ILAC-MRA recognized laboratory. Testing covered 20+ compounds including heavy metals, aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, trichothecenes, fumonisins, zearalenone, patulin, and sterigmatocystin. Results: Not Detected across all compounds.
